WHY USE?

The transport box (kennel) is intended to accommodate your pet within the aircraft in order to provide the safety, comfort and well-being of your pet.

In order to promote the safety, comfort and welfare of your animal, the transport box must comply with the requirements of the latest edition of the IATA LAR (Live animal regulations from International Air Transport Association) Together with the internal regulations of each airline.

Briefly, for international air travel, they must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be constructed of durable material;
  • Have at least 20% of its ventilated structure on the sides and back. The ceiling can not be ventilated (leaked);
  • The transport box door must have an external trigger lock (safety lock);
  • Allow the animal to rotate 360 ° comfortably (without coiling);
  • Allow the animal to lie down in a natural position and stand up comfortably;
  • The space between the animal (erect) and the box ceiling must be at least 7 cm;
  • Kennels with wheels are not accepted;
  • Transport boxes with fastening clips are not accepted;

HOW TO KNOW THE IDEAL TRANSPORT BOX (kennel) SIZE FOR MY PET

Through the measures of the animal, we can define the ideal size of transport box (kennel) for him, always aiming for its safety, comfort and well-being.

Formula

A + ½ of B to set the ideal length of the transport box;

C x 2 to set the ideal width of the transport box;

D + 7 to set the ideal transport box height.

Example:

Measurements of your animal: A = 45 B = 20 C = 15 D = 35
A (45) + ½ B (10) = 55 (minimum length)

C (15) x 2 = 30 (minimum width)

D (35) + 7 = 42 (minimum height)

Minimum measurements for my transport box:

55x30x42 cm (length x width x height, respectively).

ATTENTION!

The above formula must be strictly adhered to, since in case the carrier is refused by the airline, the process will be canceled and a new one must be started with the transport box replaced. In this case, the procedure should be rescheduled according to availability of the airline.
